Not surprisingly our trip to Rio for the World Cup has been mainly centered about soccer, I have actually watched more soccer over the last month then I have in my entire life. Everything about the World Cup (going to the games, cheering on Brazil with locals in the streets, watching the US play Belgium with a huge group of Americans at the Budweiser hotel) has been incredible. But last Tuesday marked the end of the group stage and I was a bit excited that there were two rest days before the quarterfinals began. No games meant that we could venture out and experience some different parts of Rio on Wednesday and Thursday. Continue reading
